Category: Women Empowerment in the Workplace

Shelley is a Director of Mentoring 4 Success (Pty) Ltd, and Managing Director of KMI Inkaba Management Consultants, (Members of the Knowledge Management Institute (Pty) Ltd Group of Companies), providing niche strategic, knowledge based solutions and services throughout Africa since 1997.

She is also a Director of the recently established Inkaba Knowledge Mentoring Academy (PBO) and a trustee of the Inkaba Education & Development Trust  (PBO) to provide high value & meaningful Nation Building solutions through its ‘’Nation Building through Mobile Knowledge Mentoring’’ mandate, to support unemployed black female graduates.

She embarked on her earlier career as an engineer in the specialist timber engineering field with an international engineering company, where she headed up the technical Sales and Marketing Division.

This experience and ‘’People” role sparked her interest in the human dynamic and her life’s interest and purpose in knowledge sharing and mentorship.

She spent some time in the USA with Target Training International and returned to run the South African license for the Success Insights™ Behavioural and Values Profiling software system and associated training.  She then partnered with the Knowledge Management Institute, in the specialist field of Knowledge Management, which resulted in the development of the formal and structured Mentorship suite of programmes, Mentoring For Success™.

The programmes were essentially designed to ensure sustainable knowledge transfer, incorporating Knowledge Management and specialist coaching techniques. At that early phase, the Mentoring 4 Success™ programme received an award in the 2005 T-Systems, Convergence Magazine and Da Vinci Institutes Innovation and Sustainability Awards for “Most Outstanding New Innovation” in its category.

Building various partnerships, accreditations and endorsements through professional bodies, such as SABPP and companies such as Microsoft, have been key in establishing her role in this niche space.

She has been closely involved with the evolution of Mentorship in the workplace, with the launch of the first-of-its- kind bespoke Mobile Knowledge Mentoring App in 2017, to support the mentoring programmes and initiatives and to  realise and mobilise knowledge sharing and transfer in real time and in context and to support her specific pursuit to drive Gender  Equity and fast track this critical need with the development of the i-GEM Mentoring initiative.

Shelley is also a trained NLP practitioner, Disc Analyst and is an approved “Nine Conversations in Leadership” programme facilitator.
